WINDSOR LEISURE CENTRE, BERKSHIRE Contract: JCT Design & Build 2011 Value: £450,000 Duration: 20 weeks Completed: December 2012 Architect: David Howarth Architects Structural Engineer: F J Samuely & Partners “… a very good result all round. (J Coffey) was very efficient and worked really well with the site staff and customers. I would highly recommend them to any other departments. The gym users are very impressed with the new facility and hopefully we will sell the required amount of memberships to meet our budget targets.” Kevin Mist (Head of Leisure Services), Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead. Design and Build extension to an existing Leisure Centre close to the Olympic rowing centre at Eton Dorney. This steel framed extension was constructed on top of the existing building to house additional weights, spinning and general exercise areas. The project was successfully completed on time without disruption to the daily operation of this extremely busy sports and leisure facility. The building was largely clad in composite cladding with a fully glazed curtain walling system overlooking the river elevation. Services changeovers were undertaken without disruption to existing supplies. The whole building was finished to a high standard.
