Sustainable Practices at 81 Newgate Street

J Coffey have been working in partnership with Mace for over 22 months on the deconstruction and subsequent construction of the 81 Newgate street building.

We have made a firm commitment to minimise the use of diesel on the site by exclusively utilising sustainably sourced HVO and electric machinery.

Every delivery of HVO to the site was carried out using dedicated HVO delivery vehicles.

The statistics clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of these measures.

SUSTAINABILITY CAMPAIGN 2023-2024

We’re excited to share our latest endeavour – a sustainability campaign that’s designed to make a meaningful difference, driven just by a commitment to do what’s right.

At J Coffey, we take immense pride in our work’s positive impact on our colleagues, clients and the communities we work within; but we’re equally conscious of our industry’s environmental footprint.
From materials to waste, we’re always rethinking how we work with our clients and partners on sites to develop towards a greener future as the norm.
Although the construction industry has made progress in sustainability, we know there’s still lots to do. We are continuing to become a leading contractor in the transformation of how we build, renovate and operate in the built environment.
We embrace the responsibility to drive change in our supply chains, introduce best practices on our sites and offer dynamic solutions to our clients.

Objective: This campaign aims to emphasise to all sites the significant impact of our small decisions on sustainability.
Targets:
– 1,000+ hours of focused training
– On-site training with Tool Box Talks and using selected resources from the
Supply Chain Sustainability school.
– Creation and promotion of 12 unique case studies during this campaign,
focusing on innovation, best practice, and human impact.
-Create four more “Sunflower” sites, continuing to raise awareness and provide training around hidden disabilities to create a more inclusive environment for our work colleagues.

Make sure to check out the great work of the sunflower scheme at: What is the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower? (https://hdsunflower.com/)
